NEW SPORT HALL AND SOON SPORT TERRAINS IN PASI POLJANA

 Pupils of separate school building of `Kralj Petar Prvi` elementary school in Pasi Poljana will have the classes of physical education, already in the beginning of May, in modernly equipped sport hall. On the initiative of Palilula Municipality, Ministry of youth and sport allocated the funding of 10,000,000 dinars and the City of Nis participated with 4,200,000 dinars. Thanks to the Programme of cross border cooperation Bulgaria – Serbia, IPP fund and project activities of Palilula Municipality, the adaptation of this space will be continued. The main project was completed. On the surface of 4,400 m2 will be many sports terrains –volleyball, basketball and handball courts, tennis court, fitness trails, ski jump, athletics track.

PALILULA MARKET PLACE SOON
OPENS THE GATES

 As it was previously promised, the reconstruction of green market on Paliula is in finishing phase. The workers, employees of `MD GIT `d.o.o Nis during this week were visited by PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality.
New Palilula market will have about 100 stalls with more than 30 then before, it will be of opened type with new fence, roof, water installation, special part for dairy products and after the working hour it will be secured with roll fence. The concept of Palilula market work, as opened type, will provide the work in two shifts until the late hours. According to Novakovic words, modern market includes free access to it, so new mode of transport in the surrounding streets and parking area around the market will be also arranged.

`HELP` GRANTS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES AND COOPERATIVES

 German `Help` organization implements the campaign within of project `Support to local sustainable development through reduction of poverty and economic strengthening` at the territory of 15 cities and municipalities of the Republic of Serbia. Agreements on cooperation on the realization of the projects are signed with the cities: Leskovac, Kraljevo, Nis, Novi Pazar, Smederevo and Vranje and municipalities Bela Palanka, Bujanovac, Merosina, Pirot, Priboj, Prijepolje, Presevo, Svrljig and Tutin. Project is financed by German Government and also cities and municipalities.With this project is also foreseen the support for at least 500 small businesses with grants in the equipment value of 2, 400, 00 Euros and four cooperatives (Leskovac, Merosina, Nis, Pirot) with grant in equipment value of 15, 000, 00 Euros.

PALILULA MUNICIPALITY PURCHASED THE BOOKS OF POPULAR NIS WRITERS
AND DONATED TO SCHOOLS

 Traditionally Palilula Municipality celebrated World Book Day – April 23 this year with the purchasing of 30 new editions of Nis popular writers. According to PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality, on this way the Municipality gives the support to Nis writers and promotes book tradition and culture. The purchased books are signed by Zoran Ciric, Dejan Stojiljkovic, Milos Grozdanovic, Vidosav Petrovic and Sasa Hadzi Tancic will be donated to the libraries of elementary and high schools. Book Day is in fact the day of remembering Spaniard Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare, the English, who died back in a 1616 and organization UNESCO, in their honor, established on 23 April as the World Book day.

PREVENTION OF PEER VIOLENCE

 Bullying in schools is growing, say psychologists of the Department for Child Care, City of Nis. The results of a survey, that has been conducted last three months by this city administration of Nis among elementary school students, showed that nearly half of the children are formerly involved in a fight or quarrel in schools. Representatives of educational institutions, local government authorities, experts talked about this issue during this occasion. PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality participated at this conference.The survey results of the Child, social and primary health care of the City of Nis, conducted over the past three months in 13 schools in Nis, randomly, included 1100 children from fifth to eighth grades, are worrying.

 EKOPOLIS-Media Ecological Network in Serbia, as a partner organization of Palilula, which is in charge of the project "Development and improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs in the field of improving energy efficiency in buildings," approved and funded by LEDIB Programme (Local Economic Development Balkans), announced a contest the best media (in the category of students at the University of Nis) on the theme: "Barriers and Energy Efficiency in Buildings".The aim of this competition is education and better information to the public, especially government bodies and economic entities on barrriers, needs and the importance of isolation as one of the key factors of energy efficiency in buildings.

It is about global documentary marking of the activities that happened on the Earth in one day, in the lives of the people worldwide. The author of this project is Kyle Ruddick and producer Brandon Litman say that this film will be projected in more than 160 countries in the world on April 22 2012. It is expected that this film project will set the work record as the first movie using the records from every country in the world on the same day.

BOMBING VICTIMS MEMORIAL

 Under the auspices of Palilula Municipality, City of Nis and Citizen Association "Old Niš" - that takes care of tradition and heritage of Nis, the memorial service was held on Sunday traditionally on the Old cemetery of Niš "Gorica" for remembering the victims of the bombing of Nis of April 8 1941. On this occasion, after a memorial service, in the presence of the priests, the representatives of the Association "Old Niš", the delegation of Palilula Municipality, the Association of the descendants of warriors, laid flowers at the monument and evoke memories of the bombing of Nis 71 years ago.

 On the occasion of International day of Roma population -8 April, the Center for active communication and the Commissioner for Roma Issues of Palilula organized in the hall of Nis Cultural Center - NKC, ceremony where outstanding individuals, organizations and media representatives assigned Awards for improving the social status of Roma population in the Decade of Roma. After the welcoming words of Bojan Zenulović and Dragan Osmanovic, the guests were addressed by Dušica Davidovic, a member of the Council of the City of Nis and then by Ilija Jocović, assistant of the head of the Economy and sustainable development department.

 In the third open call for proposals of development projects- LEDIB Programme (Local Economic Development Balkans), Palilula Municipality has been approved the project "Development and improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs in the field of improving energy efficiency in building construction." On this occasion, Karsten Lund, director of LEDIB and PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality, signed the agreement and spoke about the importance of the project. The project which was submitted by Palilula, according to director LEDIB had the best scores of all projects that have been received.

IT IS CRUCIAL TO KNOW THE HISTORY OF YOUR OWN NATION!

 In the history competition called `Serbian Liberation and defensive wars of the twentieth century` 27 students took part from six elementary schools -groups 3 + 1 student. In the overall standings the first place went to elementary school students of `Branko Miljkovic` -team led by Andrea Milijić, Konstantin Ilic, Nikola Blagojevic and Dunja Cekic. Second place went to school students Bubanjski Heroji` and'' third to school `Desanka Maksimovic`.President of Palilula Municipality PhD Igor Novakovic and the president of the Municipal Alliance Committee of the descendants of warriors of Serbia 1912-1920 - Dragan Ristović presented the awards to the most successful teams of students that have shown the best results at the competition in the history of the city to mark the anniversary 100th anniversary of the First Balkan War.

ONE WAY TRAFFIC IN BOZIDARCEVA STREET

 With the reconstruction Palilula market the conditions have been created to fulfill the request of the citizens of this part of Palilula and change mode of transportation and traffic in the surrounding streets, as well as arrange the existing ring traffic and parking around the market. So the traffic in the street Bozidarceva to Amerikanac restaurant from Monday (2 April) is in one direction. In Starca Vujadina and Episkopska streets the traffic is being carried out in both directions. We are informing the drivers to pay attention to new mode of traffic in the area around Palilula market. The Directorate for the traffic of the City of Nis, authorized public communal enterprise and Palilula Municipality intensively work on certain solution that will be the best for the demands of the residents of this part of the city.
